Vintage Light Bulbs

Hi, Nostalgic Bulb fans,
I’m Julie, and I blog over at redheadcandecorate.com.
I love to decorate our home & cook yummy food for my family.

Thank you, Nostalgic Bulbs, for inviting me to blog on your blog :)
I absolutely love your products.
Especially, these babies…

Vintage light bulbs are very hot these days.
No pun intended, but really they are.
Especially at my house.
I use them throughout our home.
Nostalgic Bulbs are the most beautiful bulbs I have ever used.
Not only are they nice to look at,
they are reasonably priced.
They also are delivered quickly to your front door all nicely packaged.
Let me show you a few examples throughout our home. In our kitchen, we use the “beacon” style.
You can see they really bring out the crystals in our pendant lights.
If we had used a regular bulb, it would take away from the light fixture.

I also used vintage light bulbs in our light fixture over our table.
These are the Nostalgic chandelier version.
These are beautifully lit, dimmed, or even off.
When we have company I usually dim them and they really set the mood.
When it’s homework time, back up they go.

Here’s another example of the vintage chandelier bulbs
in our master bedroom and master bathroom.

I also happen to use the vintage bulbs in our halls.
They are best for light fixtures you can see through.
Not only is there less glare, but they are gorgeous.

Design Your Own Edison Antique Pendent Lamp

Have it Your Way!

How would you like to design your own Edison Vintage Pendent, or Swag Lamp? We thought you would. NostalgicBulbs.com just added a new item/service to our store. Choose the style, color and length of the lamp cord, choose the socket from our selection of Bulb Sockets, and choose your bulbs. For a small fee will put it all together for you!! We just started it last week and we've already got to make some very cool and creative Pendents. My favorite one was made out of 6 foot red 3conductor cord connected to an Antique Brass Dimming Socket with the Heavy Duty Bulb Guard. I should have the customers take pictures of the lamps after they install them and post it on our web site. Start a collage cool Vintage Edison Lamps. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas, I would love to hear your thoughts on this!!

Cloth Covered Wire

Rayon or cotton covered electric cord has been getting more popular in the past few years.  People are using it to restore old lamps, vintage fans, or make antique looking pendants or swag lamps.  It's available in many cool fun different colors that were never available in the past. At NostalgicBulbs.com we carry both cotton and rayon covered cord in red, blue, denim, purple, brown, black, gold and many more cool colors.  We are also constantly adding more colors in both rayon and cotton. You can also choose between the twisted, parallel, or the regular round style, the different gauge sizes and the number of conductors.  I personally love the red twisted wire.  It's really sticks out in what ever you use it in.  It really makes a difference when you make or restore a lamp, a pendant or a vintage fan.  Our idea is to give you all the material you need to create your own lamp.  It’s easy to do and fun.  We are also adding some ready made lamps and pendants using the Antique look of the cloth covered cord with vintage looking sockets and plugs.   Please let us know if you have any suggestions or requests.  We could also put it all together for you, if you not into connecting wires, plugs and sockets.  Choose from our selection of the cloth covered wire, our plugs and our sockets.   Tell us how long you would like the wire to be and what style of cord.  Email us at creations@nostalgicbulbs.com.
